CERTIFIED NURSE ASSISTANT II

Evening Only

Champion Nursing Academia is approved by the California Department of Public Health Licensing and Certification program (L&C), Aide and Technician Certification Section (ATCS) Services, to offer a nursing assistant program. The program is a evening only program designed to prepare individuals to become safe and competent Nursing Assistants and be eligible for certification by the California Department of Public Health as Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) and to work in a variety of health-care facilities.

The program consists of 104 hours of clinical time and 64 hours of classroom/Lab time. Upon completion of the nursing assistant program, the student will be eligible to take a proficiency examination. After completion of the program, a pass on the proficiency exam, and a cleared background check, certification is granted by the California Department of Public Health Licensing and Certification program (L&C), Aide and Technician Certification Section (ATCS).

NURSING ASSISTANT PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 16 years of age


  • Must be legally able to work in the United States


  • Must have a valid social security card and picture ID


  • Speak, Read, an Write English 


  • Successfully pass a Physical health exam (completed by a physician, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner) and an intradermal PPD skin test for tuberculosis (or chest x-ray as appropriate).


  • Successfully pass a Criminal Screening Background Test.

ACLS

Renewal course

Course: ACLS Renewal by American Heart Association
Course Price: $210
Course Length: About 4 hours
Certification: American Heart Association© ACLS. You will receive your card on the day of the class.

Online ACLS Option
The American Heart Association offers another option to receive your ACLS card called ACLS Heartcode. You take the course and written test online and then come to our office for one hour for skills testing. If you are interested in this option please contact instrutor. 

Mandatory Precourse Assessment & Precourse Work (two documents)
Complete the mandatory precourse test and precourse work (3-4 hours), save your results as a pdf and upload to us at least 5 days before your course. You can take this course on your phone, tablet, or computer.  You must receive a score of 70% or better to take this class. Retake until you pass. You cannot attend the course unless both sections are completed. If you show up to class without these two forms completed, you will be turned away and cannot attend the course.

Course

Course: PALS Renewal by American Heart Association
Course Price: $210
Course Length: About 4 hours
Certification: American Heart Association PALS. You will receive your card on the day of the class.

Alternative PALS – PALS heartcode on-line.
The American Heart Association offers an alternative way for you to receive your PALS certification card called PALS Heartcode eLearning. In this course, you do most of the coursework and take the written test on your computer (you can start and stop as needed). Then you come in to our office for the 1 hour skills testing. You would receive the same certification card as if you are taking the regular PALS course.
